In Bratislava, there is a protest on Hodžovo náměstí, in front of the parliament, and an assembly is also announced on Náměstí slobody. In front of the parliament, the police had to intervene against a few demonstrators in order to maintain a 50-meter safety distance from the building. The intervention was accompanied by skirmishes, the police detained two protesters.

An anti-conflict team also intervened in front of the parliament. Heavy police officers were also prepared. After the arrest of one of the protesters, a group of protesters began to move slowly to Hodžovo náměstí, where a protest of hundreds of people called by Kotlebovci is currently taking place. During his speech, Marian Kotleba called the flags of the European Union “occupation rags”.

The crowd protests against the government, claiming that the “genocide of the Slovak nation” is taking place in Slovakia, and that the constitution and fundamental human rights are being violated. Speakers are negative about vaccination, coronavirus pandemics and anti-pandemic measures. They also criticize border measures.

Bratislava police told TASR that they had taken adequate measures for Wednesday’s protests in the capital. “We will monitor the situation on an ongoing basis and in the event that public order is violated or other illegal activities are committed, we will use legal measures to remedy the situation,” the police said.
