FIFA 22: Slovakia and ŠK Slovan will not be in the game – ŠPORT.sk

EA Sports’ popular FIFA football game no longer offers the latest roster updates, so we have to wait for the new version of FIFA 22 to be released. We’ll see it on October 1st.

Enduring the summer season with old lists is not difficult, the wait is not that long. But waiting for the Slovak national football team in the game is endless. We tried to find out if by chance we would not be able to play in the game FIFA 22 federal derby Slovakia vs. Czechia.

SLOVAKIA AGAIN IN COMPETITION

Last season, the Slovak national team was part of the competitive and less popular game Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) from Konami. A year ago we prepared a similar article, then they told us from the Slovak Football Association (SFZ): “The Slovak Football Association has a signed contract with KONAMI from July 1, 2019 to July 30, 2021.”

We addressed SFZ with the question, in which game will we see our national team in the new season? “SFZ’s cooperation with Konami continues next year, so we will be part of the PES game,” the spokeswoman of the association Monika Jurigová informed us.

This is not good news for FIFA enthusiasts. But a slight consolation can be at least the fact that the new game PES will be called eFootball and will be “free-to-play” and therefore free for everyone, it should be available from about mid-September.

We have not received an answer to the subsequent supplementary questions, whether at least the negotiations between SFZ and EA Sports took place and for what period the contract with Kona is signed. According to the spokesperson, EA Sports chooses who to contact and it does not work by contacting it. So they clearly did not address Slovakia.

A year ago, we received a much more comprehensive answer. “SFZ negotiated with EA Sports, but without success. The participation of the Slovak national football team in the FIFA game could not be agreed, although there was great interest from the SFZ, which still persists.

Our survey on social networks showed that fans of the Slovak national team play FIFA more on the PlayStation console. EA Sports’ lack of interest in cooperating is related to the size of the market. That is why SFZ also organized eSport tournaments in the PES game, ” explained the reasons for not participating in the FIFA Jurigová game in 2020.

CZECH REPUBLIC WITH QUESTIONNAIRE

In mid-August, we also turned to the Football Association of the Czech Republic (FACR) with the same question as at the SFZ. “The Czech national team has been a part of both game series in recent years and this is also the case in the current year of both games. At the moment, we do not want and cannot comment on previously unpublished years. “

They could not answer the question of what benefits from the participation of the games for the FACR in more detail. “These are internal issues of all parties. However, it can be said in general that thanks to these games, the Czech national team can present itself among sports players all over the world, “ said spokesman Petr Šedivý.

From the first statement of the FACR, it was not clear to us whether we would see the Czech Republic in the new FIFA 22 and eFootball games as well. Petr Šedivý answered us: “We will leave the official confirmation of which teams will appear in both game series to the individual gaming companies, even for the 22nd year.” However, according to unofficial lists, we should again find the Czech Republic in the FIFA game.

We also wanted to check to see if it really works so that EA Sports has to contact you. “As far as the negotiations are concerned, we are in constant contact with the representatives of the gaming companies,” a FACR spokesman said.

So whether we can play a federal derby at least in eFootball remains questionable. Lists of national teams that will be in games from Konami or EA Sports are not officially available. We just found out that Ukraine will be added to the FIFA 22 game.

How negotiations between companies and unions work is shrouded in secrecy. And also what the national teams have to meet to get into the game. It is clear that EA Sports will fight harder to have England, France, Spain or other large national teams in FIFA 22, and Slovakia’s non-participation is not losing ground.

The size of the market can also be argued. Small Slovakia may not be interesting for EA Sports. Here, however, comes the second look. In FIFA 21 we can find representations of Finland, Iceland and Slovenia, which can be compared with the Slovak and Slovak market. Of these, only Slovenians do not have official jerseys and the logo of the national team and the association in the game.

For many years, fans have been looking in vain for the Slovak national team in the FIFA game. We have no choice but to believe that this will change over time. Although we are part of PES / eFootball, this game does not have such an intervention in Slovakia and is much less popular than FIFA.

But there is an alternative, although it would be just a small patch. In FIFA 22, it should be possible to create your own team. If the developers came up with it in such a way that we could add any players to it, we would be able to create a Slovak national team in the game at least in this way.

SLOVAK CLUB IN FIFA 22?
