New record of coronavirus infections in a single day in Israel, where – according to today’s bulletin – over 10,900 new cases have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours, thanks to the Delta variant. This was reported by the Israeli Ministry of Health confirming 10,947 infections, the highest figure since the outbreak of the pandemic. Among the newly infected, many are children, as pointed out by the Times of Israel, which also highlights the high number of tests that are being carried out in these days in the country, also in view of the reopening of the school year scheduled for tomorrow. According to the Ynet website, 33% of those who tested positive yesterday were under 11 and 15% were between 12 and 18, while only 4% were over 60. The positivity rate between tests remained above 7% for the third consecutive day. So far, the daily maximum of new cases had been revealed in mid-January, with 10,118 positive tests in one day.
