LIVE Response from not opening the meeting:
The deputies of Smer-SD react to the events in the parliament, when neither of the two extraordinary sessions was opened, either at higher energy prices or during the dismissal of Mikulc. “Every day it turns out what an unprepared and dangerous gang that came to power. They were afraid to come argue and have a discussion yesterday,” says President Robert Fico.
According to him, Minister Mikulec is corrupt. “If you don’t believe me, come to me, I’ll show you the whole genesis of this case,” said about Mikulcov ‘s alleged past in the area of purchasing Fico IT equipment. He also mentions a 100,000 euro bribe or a conflict of interest in the case of his brother and father.
Parliament does not have a quorum for the fourth time. After the presence of only 63 deputies, Kollár closed the 38th session and moved the rest of the agenda to the next September meeting.
Deputy Vladimíra Marcinková (For the People) says that the non-opening of the meeting also lies in the fact that the coalition does not want to run into the opposition game, despite the fact that the meeting will have to be opened one day. It will either be now or in September. “It’s a coalition agreement,” claims the representative for the people. “We who are standing here are sitting in the hall and we are ready to talk about the topics they raise, but if the coalition agrees on a procedure, we will respect it,” Marcinková claims that Mikulec has their trust.
Parliament Speaker Boris Kollár (We are a family) examines the quorum of the parliament. Only 62 Members are present. NR SR therefore there is no quorum. Kollár postpones the meeting for an hour, specifically to 10:05.

Smer-SD blames the minister for several things, from the situation in the department and the police to suspicions of corruption. The opposition party claims that Mikulec was to meet with a member of the Bratislava group of such people, Matej Z., in his apartment, where they were to take over the coordination of statements. The party also accuses the minister of interrupting the police crackdown on Matej Z. and two other witnesses. He also talks about suspicions of corruption. Mikulec has already denied the allegations, reacting that he does not know Matej Z. and has never met him.
EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF PARLIAMENT: Surprise at the beginning after the return of the deputies to the benches, they did not even approve the program!
The first meeting did not take place either
The coalition SaS does not see meaning in extraordinary meetings of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic initiated by the opposition Smer-SD. He considers them a theater. Therefore, the deputies of the party did not support the agenda of the negotiations on energy prices and will not take part in the dismissal of the Minister of the Interior, Roman Mikulec (OĽANO). The head of the SaS club, Anna Zemanová, informed about it. She declared that she was behind the government of Eduard Heger (OĽANO) and his ministers.

“If there is an interest in an expert discussion, Robert Fico (Smer-SD), as a member of the Economic Committee, can make a proposal to discuss this point in committee, and we would certainly support such a point.” said Zemanová. According to her, the state secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Karol Galek, could also come to the committee, who could lead an expert discussion.
She declared that the ministry is looking for solutions that would minimize the impact of increased energy prices on households and entrepreneurs. “It has to do with the measures that the ministry has taken to reduce the lump sum fee for energy prices. We cannot influence the market price.” clarified.

Opposition Pellegrini urges government deputies not to obstruct
Non-attached Member of the National Council (NR) of the Slovak Republic Peter Pellegrini called on the coalition to stop obstruction in the dismissal of the Minister of the Interior Roman Mikulec (OĽANO). Although the meeting was scheduled to begin on Monday, it was postponed to Tuesday (31 August) due to the quorum of the plenary. Pellegrini criticizes this and called on Parliament Speaker Boris Kollár (We Are the Family) not to convene any other meeting until the minister’s appeal has been discussed. He appealed to Mikulca to resign himself.
