Alexandre Lloveras and his guide Corentin Ermenault dominated this time trial run from start to finish on the Fuji Speedway circuit. They simply took the lead in each intermediate lap to finally win with 6”75 over the Dutchman Vincent ter Schure, helped by his driver Timo Fransen. The Spaniards Christian Venge Balboa and Noel Martin Infante completed the podium.
The 21-year-old French para cyclist had failed at the foot of the podium with his guide on the 4000m track pursuit. They knew how to get up and bounce back to obtain the most precious of metals. The other committed French pair, Raphaël Beaugillet and François Pervis, finished 9th.
