Olivier Giroud is not part of Didier Deschamps’ selection for the matches against Bosnia, Ukraine and Finland with the French team.

In a press conference, the coach of the Blues mentioned sporting reasons to justify the absence of Olivier Giroud in his list of 23 players. The argument is however wobbly insofar as the former Chelsea striker has been systematically called up despite his low playing time at Chelsea, which is not the case in this selection when he has precisely found colors since his transfer to AC Milan. Lizarazu regrets the absence of Giroud

“The absence of Giroud marked me” reacted the world champion on TF1, before continuing. “I have the impression that Deschamps reproaches Giroud a little for his sentence on the fact that he was not served during the friendly matches. There had been a problem with Mbappé. I found it hard compared to that. Giroud has the right to express himself, there are always discussions between players. I find that is not an argument.
