RADICAL WEATHER CHANGE: It’s freezing and snowing heavily in the High Tatras – Hudba.sk

HIGH TATRAS – It has been snowing significantly in the High Tatras since night. The temperature is below the freezing point of -1.2 ° C and a continuous layer of snow has formed on Lomnický štít by morning, with the snow height already reaching 19 cm.

Rainfall activity will continue in our territory during the day, while rainfall will cease in the evening, but not for long, ” informs imeteo.sk on its website. The cold air over our territory will cause the temperatures to probably not rise above the freezing point on Lomnický štít in the next few days. Floods are also threatening in the north. The Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute informed about it on its website. The second-degree warning against heavy rain applies in the districts of Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Poprad and Kežmarok until Monday noon. “Occasionally, heavy rain is expected to occur with a total precipitation of 50 to 80 millimeters,” warned the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute, noting that precipitation may cause minor damage.

The first level of warning was issued by meteorologists for most of the Žilina and Prešov regions. Also for the districts of Rožňava, Spišská Nová Ves, Považská Bystrica, Rimavská Sobota, Revúca and Brezno. It can fall within 55 millimeters of precipitation in these areas. The hydrological warning of the second degree is valid in the Tvrdošín district until 6.00 pm. The first degree warning was issued by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute for other districts, especially in the upper Považie and Liptov, in Kysucie, Orava, around Poprad and for the districts in the upper part of Bodrog.
