SHMÚ warns: Meteorologists issued a warning for rain on several districts on Tuesday – Topky

The rain warning is valid from 06:00 in the morning until late Tuesday evening. SHMÚ issued it for the districts of Považská Bystrica, Čadca, Bytča, Žilina, Kysucké Nové Mesto, Martin, Dolný Kubín, Námestovo, Ružomberok, Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Poprad, Kežmarok and Stará Ľubovňa.

Rainfall with a total precipitation of 35 to 55 millimeters is seldom expected in the districts. “This total precipitation represents a potential hazard to human activities. The estimated total and intensity of precipitation is common at a given time of year and area, but may cause minor damage,” specified by SHMÚ.

However, meteorologists continue to warn of rain floods in northern Slovakia. The SHMÚ issued a second-level warning for the Tvrdošín district. The first level of warning applies to the districts of Žilina, Martin, Ružomberok, Liptovský Mikuláš, Čadca, Kysucké Nové Mesto, Námestovo and Dolný Kubín. The alert is valid until Wednesday, September 1.
