Reims / PSG – The notes of the Parisians: Mbappé puts an essential double for a mixed Paris – Parisfans.fr

This Sunday, as part of the 4th day of Ligue 1 2020-2021, Paris Saint-Germain faced Reims at Stade Auguste Delaune. After a rather irregular match even if Paris remained solid, PSG won 0-2. Here are our notes from the Parisians.

Guardian –

Keylor Navas (6) – He had nothing to do in the first half. He stayed focused to help the revival. More solicited in the second half, he conceded a goal finally refused for offside. He did the job as often.

Defenders –

Achraf Hakimi (6.5) – He was well blocked by the Rémois in the first half. He offered a lot, exchanged, his presence on the ground changes a lot of things for PSG. He was clearly less in sight and yet, well launched by Gueye in the depth, he offers caviar to Mbappé for the second goal.

Marquinhos (6.5) – The captain made his return this evening. He showed the way by playing high. Always interesting in the recovery and in his reversals, it feels good to see him on the ground again. He didn’t have a lot of interventions to make but played less high in the second half. Probably because the Parisian pressing was less intense.

Thilo Kehrer (6.5) – Concentrated and fairly precise, he did the job perfectly in the first half. Positioned on the left axis, it confirms that it is much better in the axis and its quality of the two feet allows it to be able to be comfortable on both sides. He remains solid in the second half, despite a small loss of ball that could have been expensive. It is also gaining momentum.

Abdou Diallo (5.5) – We feel power in his game but a slight technical lack. He gives a lot and managed his side well in the first half. He ran a lot in second and finished tired. He put a lot of goodwill into it. Replaced by Presnel Kimpembe in the 75th minute.

Environments –

Idrissa Gueye (7) – Gana Gueye is precious in this intense pressing game offered by PSG. He gave a lot to collect the balls and was invaluable in his passes forward. Less visible in second, he was more in a hurry by the Rémois. There was more waste but remains a strong element.

Marco Verratti (6.5) – He had a good first half. A little short physically again, he missed a few moves but he is at the center of the game, he touches the balls, directs, he did good. He dropped off in the second half despite good phases. Replaced by Leandro Paredes in the 75th minute.

Georginio Wijnaldum (5.5) – He is clearly gaining strength compared to the last matches but is not yet at 100% of his means. He does good in relay in the middle but lacked a bit of madness in the first half. He had some waste in the second half. He still needs a little time to acclimatize. Replaced by Ander Herrera in the 65th minute.

Forwards –

Angel Di Maria (6.5) – He shows that he still has all the qualities to express himself in this team. He runs a lot and does good offensively. He didn’t have too many successes in the first half, but tried the combinations a lot with his partners. He is the first decisive passer for Mbappé’s first goal on a perfectly felt cross. Replaced by Julian Draxler in the 80th minute.

Neymar (5.5) – So he ran a lot, he gave himself, he put the pressure. But he could not hide a certain physical deficit in his game with the ball, which seems completely normal. Even reduced, it accelerates the Parisian game. He gave what he can in the second half but ended up quite tired. Replaced by Lionel Messi in the 65th minute.

Kylian Mbappé (7.5) – He’s always there to put the ball to the bottom. But his attitude was exemplary. He ran, defended and had a good first half. Scorer with a header in the 16th minute for the second time in two games, he shows that he is very important for this Paris team. Its acceleration is still devastating. He doubled the lead in the 63rd minute on a perfect cross from Hakimi.
