He has had an unpleasant weekend behind the people, Majerský’s departure and the expert’s statement: The end is inevitable! – Topky

On Sunday, the President of the Slovak Chamber of Paramedics, Majerský, announced in an open letter that he was resigning his membership in the For People party, thus ending his mandate in its presidency. He said he refused to watch the functional party become dysfunctional.

Another blow to For the People: The head of the chamber of rescuers is leaving! The party falls apart, I refuse to look at it

Remišová sees the Kolíkovci’s effort behind the team

Remišová considers Majerský’s departure from the presidency and from the party to be an attempt by the Mária Kolíková faction to harm the party before the faction leaves it. Remišová stated this in response to Majerský’s decision to leave the party.

“Due to personal ambitions, this group caused great damage by attacks on its own party within a few months, when their only political theme was the attempt to control the party in violation of the statutes.” remarked from the press office For People. At the same time, they emphasized that Majersky’s departure had no effect on the work of the presidency. “The vast majority of the party’s presidency and members are united and will continue to promote good solutions and the values of the For the People party,” stressed.

The reasons should be sought in the management, Kolíková thinks

“It is to the detriment of a party if, when its members leave, reasons are sought in them and not in the party itself, especially in its leadership,” stressed the Minister of Justice Mária Kolíková. She noted that Majersky’s departure and his decision were certainly not easy and overnight. “He combined his name with the party and a huge effort to help the party. He never wanted to harm it. He probably sees the latest events as more of us,” she added.

The disintegration is inevitable, the political scientist confirmed

We also asked the well-known political scientist Radoslav Štefančík on the topic of František Majerský’s departure from the presidency and on the part of For People. According to his answers to the questions, he sees no other option than that, that the party will definitely fall apart. On the other hand, according to him, we have already seen many decays of this type in Slovakia.

– How do you see the current situation in the For People party after František Majerský, a member of the presidency, has already left?

The party has been falling apart since its founder father Andrej Kiska left it. What we are witnessing today is only the acceleration of the disintegration of a political party according to the scenario we have experienced in Slovakia countless times. This is not a new situation, neither the first nor the last.

– Should we expect other people to leave? Maybe supporters of President Veronika Remišová?

I assume that the process of leaving other people will continue. The supporters of Remišová will probably stand behind their chairwoman, but even that can gradually change if they change their approach to her. The way he manages this party has nothing to do with the idea that he, as an opposition politician, tried to present to us.

– What trumps does Remišová still have in her hands to divert the party from the seemingly inevitable path of disintegration of this subject?

He has no trumps from the perspective of the party’s future. The party is falling apart, that is an inevitable fact. The media usually write about the party when someone leaves the party, or Ms. Remišová exercises her power of influence. This situation must also be unpleasant for convinced party members. However, from the position of the chairman, Veronika Remišová will have a better negotiating position before the next elections. The 2-3 percent that the party binds to itself can be an advantage when negotiating an electoral coalition, resp. on the placement of several candidates on the list of candidates of another party.

– What will happen if the parliamentary club falls apart? Do you expect most Kiskovas to split up with other parliamentary parties?

Certainly yes. Several better-known faces from Behind the People are no newcomers to politics. I therefore assume that they will want to realize their political ambitions in the next parliamentary term as well.
