The most significant increase is in the category of more luxurious models in the station wagon version, such as the BMW 3 or Škoda Superb. This resulted from an analysis of the largest seller of used cars, AAA AUTO.

Covid’s summer vacation forced people to change their habits, so many decided to invest in a car instead of an air trip. Thus, the interest in station wagon, SUV and MPV versions increased significantly. “The share of station wagons sold has risen to 30 percent in the last month, making it the best-selling variant of vehicles. Customers have reduced public transport travel due to pandemic measures, so larger vehicles ‘roll’ smaller ones, such as hatchbacks, which until recently were the best-selling variant ever. SUVs are 21 percent in sales, but demand for MPVs has risen the most, selling 26 percent more in July alone than a year ago. ” said Karolína Topolová, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AURES Holdings Group, the operator of the AAA AUTO car center network. “This year’s summer season is generally one of the strongest in our history, as evidenced by the fact that in July we sold the most cars ever compared to the previous July in our almost thirty-year history. We sold more than 8,700 cars within the group., “Topolová added.

Although stationary versions still lead in the ranking of popularity of large cars – Škoda Octavia (10.7%), Škoda Fabia (6.3%) and Volkswagen Passat (5.6%), compared to last year, they were sold in the network of AAA AUTO car centers by quite a few. less.
