SHMÚ draws attention to heavy rain from 3 pm, especially in northern Slovakia – Aktuality.sk

The alert should tentatively last until Monday noon.

Heavy rain can bother northern Slovakia in particular on Sunday afternoon. This is pointed out by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMÚ), which issued first and second degree warnings.

The increased warning against heavy rain is to come into force in the districts of Tvrdošín, Liptovský Mikuláš, Poprad and Kežmarok on Sunday from 3.00 pm. It is expected to last until Monday (August 30) at noon. “Heavy rain is rarely expected to occur with a total precipitation of 50 to 80 millimeters,” SHMÚ warned.

The lowest level of warning was issued by meteorologists in the same period for most of the Žilina and Prešov regions. Also for the districts of Rožňava, Spišská Nová Ves, Považská Bystrica, Rimavská Sobota, Revúca and Brezno. It can fall within 55 millimeters of precipitation in these areas.
