Saturday August 28, 2021, from mid-afternoon, the Haute-Garonne firefighters and the gendarmerie have deployed a major search device to find a 17-year-old boy missing in the Garonne.
Disappeared in the middle of the afternoon
The latter had disappeared in the river shortly after 3 p.m., in the territory of the commune of Fauga, south of Toulouse.
It was at the bucolic site of Aouach, a very popular place in summer, that the 17-year-old boy had disappeared when he had just come to the aid of his little 6-year-old cousin, in difficulty in the river.
He saves his little cousin
“He saved his 6-year-old cousin from drowning but then sank,” SDIS 31 told Toulouse news.
Called at 3:22 p.m., 26 firefighters, including a dog team, were deployed. A gendarmerie helicopter flew over the area.
At 5:04 p.m., the teenager was found in critical condition. Despite attempts at resuscitation, he unfortunately died.
