WARSAW – In addition to Tomáš Holeš, another midfielder, Jakub Hromada, received a red card from Slavic football players in Thursday’s retaliation for the 4th preliminary round of the European League in Warsaw against the Legion.
After the end of the match, in which the Prague team lost 1: 2 and did not advance, the Slovak representative in the tunnel to the locker rooms was punished for an inadequate reaction towards the referee Artur Soares Dias. Slavia will miss the meeting at the beginning of the European Conference League group, the amount of the penalty is not yet known.
After three minutes, the Portuguese arbiter ruled out Holeša for a sharp footstep against a opponent’s standing leg. Slavia’s coach Jindřich Trpišovský acknowledged that it was a valid red card. His charges did not keep the lead 1: 0 in weakness, after two goals after the change of sides they lost 1: 2 and after the home draw 2: 2 from last week they did not move to the main stage of the European League.
The Prague team will only play a group of the newly formed European Conference League and in its introduction they will miss two defensive midfielders in Holeš and Hromadon.
