Police and highways are preparing for a mega-construction near the capital. Bratislava is going crazy, says the expert – HNonline.sk

After having relatively empty “lockdown” highways at the beginning of the year, drivers in Bratislava experienced a shock at the beginning of the summer. In the period before the holidays, the NDS started repairing the bridge over the railway in Lamač. Due to that, they had to run traffic in only two and one lanes on a busy highway. The cars stood in a few kilometers in hours.

Both the highway workers and the minister received an invitation to the rug of the Economic Committee in parliament due to the situation. The reconstruction, which was originally supposed to last until September, was finally shortened by 11 days, and drivers should cross the bridge without major restrictions this weekend. Next year, however, the drivers will face complications associated with the repair of the second half of the building.

The funnel is formed in front of Bratislava even without construction work. One will be created at this very place, where traffic from the highway, the old road from the direction of Záhorie and Devínská Nová Ves flows. According to the last measurement, about 57,000 cars load the road there every day. The second problematic direction, where the intensity is even higher, is the D1 from Senec, which is crossed by an average of 63,000 cars a day, while measurements from 2018 speak of 71,000
