WASHINGTON. Former US President Donald Trump described Thursday’s bombings in the Afghan capital Kabul as a tragedy that was never supposed to happen.

The AFP agency informed about it.

“Melania and I express our sincere condolences to the families of our wonderful and brave members of the army … We also think of the families of innocent civilians who perished in the barbaric attack in Kabul today … This tragedy should never have been allowed to happen,” statement by the former US president.

According to world agencies, at least 60 Afghan civilians were killed and 150 others were injured in Thursday’s bombings at Hamid Karzai Airport in the Afghan capital Kabul. The US Department of Defense has confirmed that at least 12 members of the US military have also died

The terrorist group Islamic State (IS) claimed responsibility for the attacks. The Afghan militant Taliban movement, which recently occupied the country, has condemned the attacks.
