And to abound, about his candidacy: “If popular circles will not vote (in the presidential election, editor’s note), we will be crushed. If the participation reaches the normal level of 80%, we will arrive at the second round ”.

In a Harris Interactive poll for Challenges, published Wednesday August 25, Jean-Luc Mélenchon would gather 11% of the vote regardless of the scenario, while the socialist Anne Hidalgo would place himself behind him just in front of the EELV MEP Yannick Jadot (7% for the mayor of Paris against 6% for the MEP).

Asked about his points in common with EELV precisely, Mélenchon assures us “that there are solid convergences between large sectors of political ecology, and especially of associative ecology” which allow “to imagine a government coalition after the second round ”.

Jean-Luc Mélenchon also returned to the health crisis, the rise of the Delta variant and the establishment of the health pass, which he considers to be a “dangerous illusion for our society”. “It establishes new social discrimination, generalized control of the population, and the illusion of immunity”, he assures us.

Regarding the government’s announcement of a third dose of the anti-Covid vaccine from September for the most vulnerable, Mélenchon believes that “no one has proven anything to us about its usefulness”.
