MANCHESTER – The English football club Manchester City has suspended Benjamin Mendy. The Frenchman faces charges of rape in four cases and another sexual offense.

“The club will not comment on the matter until the end of the court proceedings,” the internet portal sport1.de quotes the statement of the first league player. The offenses were to take place between October 2020 and August 2021. The 27-year-old defender is currently in a police cell and will appear before a judge on Friday.
