CABLE. At least 60 people, including children, have died in a terrorist attack at the airport in Kabul, Afghanistan, and more than 150 people are injured. According to the AP, the victims include eleven American soldiers and one medic.

According to the Guardian daily, two suicide bombers detonated on Thursday night, and a shooting took place. Some media also talk about the third explosion around eight o’clock Central European Time.

The two explosions occurred during efforts to evacuate foreign workers and locals trying to escape the militant Taliban movement, which has taken control of the country. The Taliban denies responsibility for the attack, and its fighters guarding the entrance to the airport have also been injured.

Several foreign embassies have also warned of the threat of another attack and are urging people not to approach the airport. Several countries announced on Thursday the end of evacuation flights due to the imminent threat of an attack.

The termination of such flights has so far been announced by Canada, Denmark, Belgium and Poland. He also plans to complete the evacuation from Afghanistan by Friday Spain and France, the last German evacuation plane also flew on Thursday.

However, the United Kingdom wants to continue the evacuation flights.

“These attacks have put Washington in a difficult political situation: continue evacuations and risk more terrorist attacks at the airport that could kill more people, or stop evacuations and take the opportunity to leave people who are desperately trying to get out of the country. As with many other political decisions in the USA, there is no good option here either, “says Michael Kugelman, an expert from the American Wilson Center.

The target didn’t have to be an airplane

On Thursday, an Italian military cargo plane also became the target of the shooting. However, the machine was not damaged.
