(CNN Spanish) – Dreams are coming and soon they will be wonderful realities! After a year and a half without being able to travel – or take vacations as we have always done – for some, the time to regain travel is coming.
And as I have always said that ‘planning a trip’ —is a very important part of its pleasure — the experts from travel agencies and companies that take the pulse of the tourism industry explain to us about the trends that are “hot” and will favorites of many this boreal summer.
The so-called “Green Lists” with areas that have received green lights – a kind of safety traffic light that were decided by the United Kingdom – help to determine if they can safely receive tourists and will help us choose our destinations.
Number 1 in trends? Beaches. Those of us who have been confined for long months dream of being by the sea, under the sun, caressed by the breeze and in total ‘relaxation’. What a treat! Truth?
And according to various travel portals such as Virtuoso, Travel & Leisure, Forbes and Business Insider, many travelers agree on the desire to run to a coastal area and even to that desert island! Caribbean beaches, like those of southern Portugal and Spain, the islands of Greece – Hawaii, the east coast of the United States, especially southern Florida such as Miami – are preparing to receive tourists from all over the world.
Curiously, a very new trend among the most popular is road trips – and this time in campers, caravans, motor homes or trailers – which avoid the need to stay in hotels and provide a wonderful sense of adventure and the power to be! 100% free to do whatever we want!
In the United States, the trip to National Parks (like the divine Grand Canyon of the Colorado River in Arizona) is a great attraction. In Europe, campers are becoming popular both for “camping”, as well as staying in the many houses and farms of rural tourism. Spain and Italy are among the favorites on this list.
Europeans are highly motivated, and more than 56% plan to travel this summer – according to the European Travel Commission, a non-profit organization – and among them 49% will travel to or to another European country. The countries they prefer are: Spain: 10.4%, Italy: 9%, France: 7%, Greece: 6.2% and Germany: 5.2%
Everywhere in the US there is a deep desire to explore their own country – and according to the experts at Virtuoso, a global organization that specializes in luxury and subject-specific travel – travelers prefer the beaches and then the more vacations. new and original (can be vineyard areas and cattle ranches in Colorado), plus adventure-filled vacations such as trips to Alaska, Iceland, Africa and Antarctica. We are already tired of boredom and want fun and exciting adventures!
Places mentioned by travelers who want to know the United States are different from the usual ones. The desire to go to New York is no longer mentioned so much, but different places like California and the vineyards of the Napa Valley, the dramatic geysers of Yellowstone National Park, as well as places in the northeast such as the beautiful area of New England as Nantucket, Cape Cod and the coast of Maine.
In short: You can go packing if you are vaccinated, because the world opens its doors to those who are. And there are countries that – if you are not vaccinated yet – allow entry to travelers who undergo PCR tests upon arrival. Many quarantine measures have been removed. And each country – and each air pound – has its own health requirements and that will help you plan. Find out everything well, because regulations are changing daily, and get to work with your plans!
