The judge for the preparatory proceedings of the Specialized Criminal Court (ŠTS), Banská Bystrica, on Thursday had to suspend a closed decision for a while on whether the accused former head of the State Material Reserves Administration (SŠHR) SR Kajetán K. remains in custody because the hall came badly. They also called in rescuers who provided assistance to the accused.

Kajetán Kičura is being prosecuted for the particularly serious crime of accepting a bribe in parallel with the continuing crime of money laundering.

“Today’s decision concerned the legal question of whether my client’s detention period is assessed under section 76, paragraph eight or paragraph nine. The judge for the preparatory proceedings decided that he is being assessed according to paragraph nine, which means that my client remains in custody and is subject to the original period, ie not five months, “stated the lawyer Rastislav Palovič.

According to Palovič, the amendment to collusive detention is “an absolute paškvil produced by someone who has neither theoretical nor practical knowledge of criminal law.” Instead of mitigating it, it tightens it.

Kajetán Kičura has been in collusion since last April, and was to last until June. In May, ŠTS kept him in custody until August, against which both the accused and the prosecutor filed a complaint. The Supreme Court of the Slovak Republic annulled this resolution of the ŠTS and extended the detention of Kajetán K. until October.

The National Criminal Agency initiated criminal proceedings for media information about the misconduct of SŠHR in procuring medical supplies in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic and the purchase of flats on Konventná Street in Bratislava in March 2020. Kajetán K. rejected allegations related to SŠHR contracts, as well as suspicions related to with two apartments bought by his son.
