Jojka and RTVS received financial fines – Aktuality.sk

The Broadcasting and Retransmission Council (RVR) imposed five sanctions at its Wednesday meeting and initiated several administrative proceedings. She also dealt with complaints against broadcasters.

The RVR imposed a fine of € 3,319 on MAC TV (the JOJ program service) for broadcasting on 17 December 2020 an additional content service under the Courtroom program – subtitles for the hearing impaired, which were not synchronized with the soundtrack of the program.

The broadcaster also received a fine of 663 euros. The Chamberlain program, broadcast on January 2, was described as unsuitable for minors under the age of 12, although it contained both vulgar and obscene language and was to be classified as unsuitable for minors under the age of 15.

Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) was fined 3,319 euros. On January 8, the radio broadcast on the Dvojka broadcast the Siblings program marked as unsuitable for minors under the age of 15, without ensuring its timing.

RTVS also received a fine of 165 euros for broadcasting a program called How the Mole Came to the Legs on December 27, 2020 with Czech dubbing, thus violating the obligation to broadcast a program intended for minors under 12 with dubbing in the state language.

Sanctions have also been affected by the pandemic

The EJ broadcaster received a sanction in the form of a breach of the law for broadcasting the Morning Broadcasting program on the Aetter program service on 24 December 2020, which included the criterion of unsuitability and inaccessibility for the under-18 age group.

Due to the economic impacts caused by the pandemic of the new coronavirus on electronic media, the RVR imposed sanctions at the lowest legally permissible level.

The Council warns that it will not require radio broadcasters to send statistics on played Slovak musical works and will not require television broadcasters to send statistics on broadcast programs of the television program service.
