BRATISLAVA – Martin Fehérváry will not strengthen the Slovak hockey team in the fight for participation in the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. The 21-year-old defender suffered a muscle injury that requires a one-week break. The hockeyslovakia.sk portal informed that coaches of Martin Buček had been called to replace him.
The federal website did not provide more information about Fehérváry’s injury. “Martin Bučko joined the team, who passed the necessary tests as a substitute with a negative result. At the Riga Championships, he took his place in the team. We are therefore happy to help us in qualifying,” said Assistant General Manager Oto Haščák.
Twenty-one-year-old Bučko worked at HC Dynamo Pardubice last season, this year he will work in České Budějovice. He competed in the Riga World Championships in five matches, scoring one goal.
