HOAX: The photo captures the Pope’s visit to Brazil, not protests in Australia – Aktuality.sk

Thousands of Slovak Facebook users shared a photo of a large gathering of people on the beach, claiming that it was supposed to be “almost a million Australians” protesting against lockdowns in the country.

This is not true, the photo comes from Rio de Janeiro and was taken in July 2013 during Pope Francis’ visit to Brazil. TASR draws attention to misinformation in cooperation with the AFP news agency.
