” He is saved. It is with these words of relief that Jean-Marie Le Lièvre, of the Human Rights League, announced on Tuesday August 24 that the young Afghan living in Dordogne was on his way to France. Information confirmed by his uncle, who lives in Dordogne, near Périgueux. “He just called me from Abu Dhabi [NDLR : la capitale des Émirats arabes unis], he will be in France tonight or tomorrow [mercredi 25 août] during the day, ”says his parent.

Currently, the adopted Périgourdin is on the base deployed by France to manage the shuttles. He should be repatriated in the next few hours. The young man had traveled to Afghanistan to see his relatives. He was due to return on Friday August 27. Stuck at Kabul airport after the Taliban take power, he launched an SOS on Twitter.

He had tried several times to enter the airport in the Afghan capital before reaching it on Monday, August 23. “We are relieved to know it is safe. From now on, I think of the other people of the family, my brothers and sisters, my nephews and nieces who stayed there ”, explains the uncle of the young man.
