Stellantis and FIH Mobile create a connected cockpit joint venture – Boursorama

(Reuters) – Stellantis on Tuesday announced the creation with FIH Mobile, a subsidiary of Taiwanese group Foxconn, of a Netherlands-based joint venture that will provide innovative smart cockpit solutions to the automotive industry.

In a statement, the automaker resulting from the merger between PSA and Fiat Chrysler said the new joint entity, Mobile Drive, will be owned equally by Stellantis and Foxconn. The management team will be made up of executives from each company, he said.

“Ultimately, the smart cockpit offering will not only be available for all Stellantis vehicles, but also for third-party automakers,” the statement wrote. “This will expand the reach and impact of Mobile Drive, which aims to become a global leader in smart cockpit and connected vehicle solutions.”

Stellantis and Foxconn signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding on May 18 to create this joint venture.
