Australian police have punished 56 guests at an illegal engagement party during a lockdown in Melbourne with a fine totaling more than A $ 300,000 (€ 184,000).

In Melbourne, there is a strict lockdown on measures against the coronavirus pandemic. Each of the 56 adults at the illegal celebration had to pay a fine of Australian $ 5,452 (€ 3,357), according to Australian website Nine News, referring to local authorities.
