The occupants of the boat are all men of Algerian origin and had been crossing for 25 hours. The migrants have been transferred at first to the Red Cross facilities in the Port of Alicante to receive health care. In principle, all were in good health, except one who had a fever for which he received medical assistance. The Red Cross has provided them with personal hygiene kits, food and clothing, before being made available to the State Security Forces for identification and transfer to a temporary residence.
