The amount of the minimum wage in 2022 will be at the level of 646 euros per month. This was informed by the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Family Milan Krajniak (We are a family) on the social network during the tripartite meeting. This will comply with the vending machine, which determines the minimum wage as 57% of the average wage two years ago. This will increase the minimum wage by 23 euros year-on-year.

The tripartite did not meet the requirements of trade unions in the Confederation of Trade Unions (KOZ) of the Slovak Republic, who demanded an increase in the minimum wage on the basis of the previous vending machine (60% of the average wage two years ago) to 680 euros per month.

On the contrary, it was complied with by employers who recommended maintaining a vending machine that speaks of determining the amount of the minimum wage as 57% of the average wage two years ago. The Association of Employers’ Unions and Associations (AZZZ) SR writes in its opinion that in the future it proposes to reconsider the method of calculating the minimum wage and determine it as 60% of the median wage. They would also accept the complete abolition of minimum wage entitlements in the future. The Association of Industrial Unions and Transport (APZD) and the Republican Union of Employers (RÚZ) also expressed the same opinion.

The Association of Towns and Municipalities of Slovakia (ZMOS) had no fundamental comments on the draft law.
