Eure-et-Loir: a nightclub closed for non-application of the health pass – The HuffPost

CLOSURE – This is one of the sanctions provided for by the law of August 5, 2021 relating to the management of the health crisis. A nightclub in Eure-et-Loir, the “6711”, was closed on Saturday August 21 for “non-application of health pass”, Reveals France Bleu Center Loire Valley.

The night establishment, subject to the presentation of QR code, will remain closed for a period of seven days, i.e. until Friday August 27 inclusive, by decision of the prefecture.

France Blue specifies that the authorities had already noticed “identical failures” during police checks carried out on July 31 and August 13. This would be the first administrative closure of a nightclub for this reason in the department.

“The health pass remains our best weapon to avoid clusters and an outbreak of the epidemic, assured the prefect of Eure-et-Loir Françoise Souliman. I am not unaware of the constraints imposed by its implementation, but it is the condition to avoid closing off economic, cultural or leisure activities ”.

The prefect intends to be firm against establishments that do not control the health pass: “When, repeatedly, a manager goes illegal in defiance of the health of his customers and employees, I will not hesitate to use all the means at my disposal to put an end to such irresponsible behavior, ”she says.

Identified clusters

Mid-July, two outbreaks of Covid-19 contamination had been identified in nightclubs located in eastern France with, each time, several dozen people affected.

Asked about BFMTV on July 23, the president of the scientific council, Jean-François Delfraissy considered “dangerous” in epidemic terms to frequent nightclubs, reopened with health passes, assuring that they had in several countries, notably in the Netherlands, been at the origin of the contamination peak ”.

In Bordeaux, 81 people tested positive after three techno evenings organized in mid-July in a club in the city while testimonies on social networks questioned compliance with health checks.

Discos, closed for 15 months, were able to reopen on July 9 on presentation of the health pass and with a reduced gauge indoors.
