Pope Francis speaks out against nuclear weapons: We are in the third world war

What is a tactical nuke? Hear what an expert has to say 2:48 (CNN) — Pope Francis spoke out against the threat of nuclear weapons during a special prayer for world peace at the Colosseum in Rome on Tuesday.
“Today peace has been seriously violated, assaulted and trampled, and this, in Europe, in the same continent that in the last century suffered the horrors of two world wars, we are in the third,” the pope said. He had earlier described the many wars around the world as a “piecemeal” third world war. “Today, something we feared and hoped never to hear about again becomes a direct threat: the use of atomic weapons, which even after Hiroshima and Nagasaki continued to be maliciously produced and tested,” Francis said. He made the remarks at the event entitled “Cry for Peace: Religion and Culture in Dialogue,” which was sponsored by the Community of Sant’Egidio, and brought together Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu and other religious leaders who they had participated in a two-day peace conference in Rome. Francis, along with representatives of various religions, signed the Rome Call for Peace at the end of the event.
