Andrej Košarišťan does not continue in the “steel” team, with whom the club is dealing with the termination of cooperation. The official website of the Košice club informed about it. “In the person of Jaroslav Janus, the best Slovak goalkeeper is coming to Košice. We believe that Jaro will bring experience, peace and stability to our goal, training and match process. As a native of the East, he will certainly have great motivation to show himself in the best possible light and pull us towards stable as a result,” commented HC Košice sports manager Gabriel Spilar. Janus has not been involved in the 2022/2023 season so far, last year he wore the jersey of the club SaiPa Lappeenranta in the highest Finnish competition and finished the season in the Czech extraleague Kladno. In the past, he worked in the lower overseas competition of the AHL and in the colors of Slovan Bratislava in the KHL. Košice will be his first place of work in the highest Slovak competition. Another move at the goalkeeper position During the 2022/2023 season, this is already the second move at the goalkeeper position in the HC Košice team. The goalkeeping tandem Košarišťany – Dominik Riečický was recently expanded by Roman Durný, who tentatively came to help for a month with the possibility of extending the cooperation. The 2022/2023 season was the third in the Košice team for the Košarišťan, whose three-match suspension recently expired. He came to it before the 2019/2020 year, which was ultimately terminated prematurely. After that, he headed to Kladno, which he helped advance to the highest Czech competition. Subsequently, he agreed with Mlada Boleslava, but due to overpressure in the goal area, he went on a one-year loan to Košice. That expired after the 2021/2022 season, after which he agreed on a regular contract with Košice. The hero of last year’s quarter-final “He is one of the greatest professionals I have met. Košice will be especially grateful to him for last year’s quarter-final with Michalovci, which he pulled us through with his performances. Hockey is a game, sometimes not everything just goes as it should. Players’ performances are really influenced by a lot various factors. Sometimes it is necessary to make a change that can kick the team and the player himself. On behalf of the implementation team and the fans, I thank “Koš” very much for his approach and services,” said Spilar. The Košarišťan has played in five games so far this season, in which he achieved an 89.47 percent save success rate and an average of 3.06 conceded goals per game. Author: © Zoznam Source: TASR
