Vlhová was driven home by the fog, she was waiting for the Žampovs… Hrovatová last appeared on the slopes in March in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, where she fell and subsequently had problems with an injured knee. “This decision was one of the hardest of my life. I’m glad I made it while I’m still relatively healthy. My knee is bothering me, but I’ll be fine. I’ve reached a point in my life where I no longer want to commit to this sports enough to be able to achieve the results I want,” Hrovatová said goodbye in a statement published by the Slovenian news agency STA. Hrovatová was the most successful Slovenian alpine skier since Tina Maze. She recorded four podium finishes in World Cup races, all third in giant slalom. In the same discipline, she took seventh place at this year’s Olympics in Beijing. Livio Magoni, the former coach of Petra Vlhová, was also her coach. Read also Petra Vlhová in action again.
