In 19, his first documentary feature film, director Javier Kühn has brought together Luis Tosar, Belén Rueda, Javier Gutiérrez, Imanol Arias, Fele Martínez, Unax Ugalde, María Castro, Marián Álvarez, Alicia Borrachero, Lolita Flores and Jorge Sanz so that they can tell it with the idea of ​​showing that, despite experiencing such a difficult situation at the end of every catastrophe, you can always learn something. That is why when they met they only asked for one requirement, to tell what they wanted, without a script and without censorship, but trying to contribute something, showing the learning that those tremendous months that we live in 2020 had left them. “The fundamental premise that we gave them is that it be a positive message”, explains the producer of 19 Amanda García-Tapia, who says that the The project was born when we had just passed the first outbreak of the coronavirus, just after three months of confinement. “Those days we live in very hard situations, and I came up with the idea of ​​being able to do something that was the complete opposite, that would show us how even in the most complicated moments of life, human beings always have something to hold on to,” he explains. .And with that conviction he proposed the project to the eleven actors, who did not hesitate to sign up. “The only problem was balancing the schedules,” explains García-Tapia. Stories to share”In turbulent and unexpected times, we all have a story to share,” says the documentary and that is what the actors of 19 do, share how they lived through such difficult times. All of them facing their memories before the camera, baring their feelings. Yes script, and without limits. Kühn and Garcia-Tapia let them tell what they wanted about their experience in a dark room, where only the chair in which they sit to confess is illuminated. Jorge Sanz on 19.NIUSY is where we heard the fear that Belén Rueda felt in the face of the uncertainty that was coming, that María Castro was pregnant for the second time and she greatly missed the contact of her brothers with whom she remains very close, that Luis Tosar and his girl turned their house into a film set, and that Jorge Sanz managed to make his little son think that at eight in the afternoon the neighbors would all agree to applaud him. Anecdotes full of sincerity of some people who, not because they are public figures, had a better time than the rest. Like everyone, they too were afraid. They felt the uncertainty of not knowing when they could go back to work, when contact with the public would be possible again, and when it was finally possible, they were excited to see the response of the people. That response that Alicia Borrachero describes excitedly sitting in her lighted chair in a dark room. It is wonderful to see how it comes to them, each one feels identified with one of the stories, but it’s up to everyone”, explains García-Tapia. An emotion that the protagonists of the film have also felt. Actors who, despite being experienced in seeing themselves on screen, have not been able to hold back their tears, because there are messages and experiences that none of us can forget.
