A forced move, due to flooding problems in its establishment, which has received the affection of friends, neighbors and relatives as a sign of support. “Our first idea was to close, but the popular outcry made us look for an alternative”, explains Elisa Fernández, manager of a bookstore with a multitude of stories collected in its eight thousand books , which have passed through the hands of your readers this morning. Those present have occupied the street to transfer the titles, something “unusual” and that fills them with “illusion” while “they see the bookstore pass through their hands”. In addition, they contribute to the continuation of Elisa and Xavi’s business, who opened their doors for the first time in 2013 and in their previous transfer they already carried out the same formula. “We have warned each other among our colleagues, it is the way to help the bookstore, we think it’s worth it. It’s a world that we love and we help to make this move as easy as possible”, recognizes one of the attendees. For a reader it is the greatest privilege to transport books. We did it in Poble Nou and I would pay to do it again,” mentions another resident of the Catalan capital. The success of the move fills the owner with hope. “We don’t believe it. You know that the bookstore works, but you don’t know how much people are willing to get involved with you either. This response means everything, trust and affection,” admits Elisa, who values ​​her “impressive” reading community. Now, with an eye on the future, the new place is finalizing its preparation in the absence of placing the books, the soul of an establishment that “not only” consists of selling them. “You come here to talk, share, live, learn and have a much more personal experience,” she says.
