Britain wants to demand sanctions on Taliban at G7 summit on Afghanistan – Aktuality.sk

-

According to Britain, Afghanistan should lose international aid if the Taliban commit human rights abuses and allow the country to become a refuge for militants and a bastion of international terrorism.

During Tuesday’s virtual G7 summit on the situation in Afghanistan, Britain plans to urge the leaders of this group of the world’s seven richest economies to consider imposing new sanctions on the militant Taliban movement, which has dominated most of the Asian country. Referring to an unnamed source from the British government and another Western diplomat, Reuters reported on Monday.
