Fatal accident on the A50 in Roquefort-la-Bédoule: one of the drivers in police custody, our latest information on this drama – La Provence

Two children lost their lives early this morning in a dramatic accident on the A50 near Roquefort-la-Bédoule. A 9-year-old boy and his 13-year-old sister were in a first car driven by their father. Originally from Meaux in Seine-et-Marne, they went to Toulon to take the boat to Corsica. The father, who drove all night, would have admitted to having dozed off. He then hit a sidewalk before his vehicle came to a stop perpendicular to the road in the left lane. In order to secure his two children, he would have chosen to get them out of the vehicle. The father was looking for yellow vests to equip his children. A second vehicle, registered in Belgium, would have stopped to help them. Unfortunately, a third car, driven by a 28-year-old woman, collided with the two stopped vehicles. It was there that the two children lost their lives. According to our latest information, the driver would only be slightly injured and not polytraumatized as was initially announced this morning. During her hospitalization, she would have admitted to being alcoholic and under the influence of narcotics. When she left the hospital, the young woman was placed in police custody in Marseille.
