The giant slalom is canceled The Slovak skier was supposed to go on the track in second place, but in the end she didn’t even get on the slope on the day of the race. Information about the first complications reached her at the hotel. “I found out at 7:45. That’s when it was decided not to go. I was not on the slope. We were supposed to leave at 6:50 a.m. and at 6:40 a.m. we got a message that everything was moving an hour. So I undressed and went to breakfast again. And I waited there. Honestly, I don’t like this. A person does not know if he should prepare or if he can rest. Then they canceled the whole thing,” she told Šport RTVS. Originally, the competition was to be held at 10:00 and 13:05. Fresh snow and rain fell in Sölden during the night. “Actually, I don’t even know why they canceled it. But I think it was because it was raining and snowing a bit and the snow wasn’t ideal. It was also warm and the mat was probably not ideal. They made this decision, for them our health is paramount. We respect that.” stated Vlhová. After receiving the negative news, the Slovak skier practiced and went home. “We’re going to Levi on November 3. After training in Argentina, I was at home for a week, but there wasn’t much time to rest. Now I’m going to exercise a bit and train in the gym as well. We’ll see if we go to Lech,” added Vlhová. Parallel races will take place in the Lech/Zürs resort on November 12, the slalom in Finland is scheduled for November 19 and 20. It is not yet known whether the “rogue” from Sölden will be replaced in another resort: “I’m not thinking about it, but hopefully they will postpone it. I knew it would rain, but I don’t worry about anything. If something new comes, even if I was supposed to go racing on Monday, I’m ready for everything. I try to take it in such a way that I quickly adapt to every change.” Vlhová could not compare herself with her competitors at the beginning of the season: “Basically, I don’t care, I’m an egoist, I look at myself.
