25 kg of ketamine, €100,000 in cash and weapons seized by the gendarmes in Ille-et-Vilaine – Ouest-France

The investigation began in June 2022, based on “tips” collected by soldiers from the Janzé brigade. The gendarmes identified drug trafficking established in the Vitré sector. Very quickly, they realized that the drugs were being transported from the Netherlands. “For nearly a million euros” The investigations and shadowing – carried out by specialized gendarmes – resulted in a vast operation on Tuesday October 18, 2022 which mobilized around a hundred soldiers, including three surveillance and intervention platoons of the gendarmerie (PSIG). Nine people were arrested in Janzé, Chanteloup, Piré-Chancé, Rennes, Chantepie, Carentoir and Ploubalay. Investigators also made very large seizures: 25 kg of ketamine, 2.18 kg of herbal cannabis, 1.4 kg of resin, 3,000 sachets of ecstasy, nine firearms (rifles and handguns) , €100,000 in cash and vehicles. “Ketamine – which is a drug that is found a lot in rave parties – is sold today around 50 € per gram. It is therefore estimated that with what we seized, there was nearly a million euros for resale, ”says a source close to the investigation. One was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment, including 6 months suspended on probation for two years, as part of an appearance on prior admission of guilt. Three others – two of whom have been placed in pre-trial detention and the last under judicial supervision – will be the subject of a deferred appearance on December 19. They are being prosecuted for offenses against narcotics legislation and offenses against weapons legislation.
