A kitty opened by a Nupes deputy to “help” the boss of Total – Actu Orange

Orange with 6Medias, published on Saturday October 22, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. François Piquemal, Nupes deputy for Toulouse, launched an online kitty to ironically respond to a tweet from Patrick Pouyanné, boss of TotalEnergies, who said he was “tired” attacks on his salary, reports Le Parisien. “I’m tired of this accusation of ‘being increased by 52%'”, wrote Patrick Pouyanné on Twitter on October 18. A statement by the CEO of TotalEnergies which had sparked controversy, in the midst of a strike in refineries for salary increases, and which inspired François Piquemal, LFI-Nupes deputy for the fourth district of Haute-Garonne. As Le Parisien reports, Friday, October 21, the parliamentarian launched an online kitty to “help” Patrick Pouyanné.
The deputy thus intends to denounce in an ironic way the remuneration of the boss, who earned nearly 6 million euros in 2021. “We have just learned that Mr. Pouyanné, CEO of Total, is unjustly accused of having increased himself by 52%. In 2020, he was only paid 3.9 million euros… To remedy this injustice, we invite you to participate”, mocked François Piquemal on Twitter, adding a link which led to a pot open on the Leetchi platform to help the boss. A shared initiative “I calculated that Mr. Pouyanné’s remuneration over five years was equivalent to 25,000 monthly installments of our autonomy income for young people that we are going to propose to the National Assembly”, added the deputy. The latter is not the only one to have had the idea of ​​​​creating a kitty to help Patrick Pouyanné.
Indeed, the actor Guillaume Meurice also opened a pot for the CEO of TotalEnergies. François Piquemal therefore decided to close his kitty, which had all the same collected nearly 135 euros, to favor that of the comedian. A decision taken “for more efficiency in our common solidarity to console the CEO of Total”, noted with humor the deputy.
