They thus had much better conditions than during the covid years with travel restrictions. After many years, Petra Vlhová trained in the summer in Argentina. I didn’t have the opportunity to follow her too much, only behind-the-scenes information reached me. It must have been good for her, as it was for everyone who traveled there. I have reports that the conditions there were not exactly easy. On the other hand, it can be positive, because when the competitor is preparing in difficult conditions, then there is nothing to surprise him. If she continues to ski, there is definitely something that motivates her to do so. She has already shown in the past that she is not a competitor who is satisfied after achieving one goal. She has already achieved several significant results and it was never the case that she did not have new goals afterwards. I don’t think that’s her style. It was heard from her and her team that they would like success in the giant slalom in the new season, for example in the form of a small crystal globe. The gold medal in slalom at the World Championships in Courchevel/Meribeli, which she does not yet have, can also be a motivation for her. I am most curious about the new, young female racers who started to assert themselves last season, although not very significantly. As every year, I am very interested in the performances of Mikaela Shiffrin, because this summer she also devoted a lot of time to sliding disciplines. It’s a shame that Slovenian Andreja Slokarová, whom I was very curious about, was injured, as she won the last slalom last winter. If Petra continues to ski, there is definitely something that motivates her to do so. In the World Cup final, she finished fifth in the slalom. It’s a great talent that hasn’t been here since Mikaela Shiffrin. I wonder how she will come prepared for the next winter. I am also curious about Katharina Liensbergerová and how the training with the Italian coach Livio Magoni helped her and how she moved. The favorite for the overall championship in the Women’s World Cup is, of course, defending champion Shiffrin. Petra could also fight for him. However, it is difficult to estimate for her, since so far there has been little information about her goals and program in the media. Sofia Goggiová will be an interesting adept. Although she only drives speed events, she won almost all of them last winter until her injury in January. In the case of men, it will be defender Marco Odermatt, but I think that Aleksander Aamodt Kilde can also win the big globe. Young Norwegians will be very dangerous. I personally like Lucas Braathen, who is not only a great skier, but also has a sense of fashion. I really like to follow him on social networks. I see him not only as an athlete, but also as an artist. In the case of brothers Adam and Andreas Žampov, the real goal is to get more points. Given their experience, this should be normal and common. After all, they already have something behind them and they can’t even set another goal for themselves. I see no reason why it wouldn’t be realistic for both to score more often. It will be a different winter for me too, since in addition to commenting on the race, I will be working with the Czech representative Martina Dubovská. I will probably go to Sestriere with her for the first race. I’m looking forward to being back in the World Cup carousel, even if I can’t focus 100% on everything because I also have to take care of my son Julo.
