#Some people are simply born with talent in their blood. Jakub Harenčák did not attend an art school, nor did he move in such a community. Despite this, he showed his love for creation and it can really be felt in his paintings. Among his first creations, however, you won’t find only paintings. In the beginning, there was graffiti “At the end of elementary school, I met a classmate who introduced me to painting graffiti, for which I am very grateful, because this is where I could fully realize myself. All through high school and years after, I basically did graffiti, where I more or less taught myself how to work with colors, combine them, shade and the like. Creating on canvas came naturally, as it was something new for me and, above all, more comfortable. But I still run out a few times a year to paint somewhere on the wall. So I didn’t completely resent graffiti, although I only take it as a certain form of relaxation.” He also creates to order. He usually divides the creation of an image into parts. So how long does it take to process an order? “That depends on whether it is an order that has a deadline. If so, it works out to approximately one to two weeks. I only paint for a few hours when I get home from work. However, if I paint something that I come up with myself, it takes even a month. Rather, I focus my work on well-known personalities, actors, singers, film and series characters and the like. The most challenging thing is that the portraits resemble their originals and that I capture some of their characteristic features that distinguish the given person.” Social networks also open up opportunities for artists. However, Jakub cannot imagine making a living from art alone. “In my case, it’s more of a leisure activity, but I believe that some people devote themselves fully to creation and can even make a living from it. But I’m more referring to artists, such as taters or custom wall paintings. Fortunately, self-presentation is certainly easier nowadays than in the past.
