There were also 332 diagnoses out of 30,329 who never used them. The researchers took into account cancer risk factors, including age, alcohol consumption and cigarettes. The analysis showed that people who used hair products were 155 percent more likely to develop the disease. The creams are applied to the strands of hair and left on for about 20 minutes, then washed off and followed by heat or straightening with hair straighteners. Hair styled in this way will normally stay straight for several months or until enough new hair grows.
