ERC does not present an amendment to the entirety of the latest Budgets of the legislature

Rushing the deadline to the maximum ERC and Bildu, the Government’s investiture partners, have given Sánchez an oxygen ball. None present an amendment to the entire General State Budget, the last of the legislature with which the president intends to reach until the end of 2023 when the general elections are scheduled. At two in the afternoon this Friday, the deadline for the opposition groups to register their amendments to all of the public accounts ended. On this occasion 6 have been presented, one less than last year because the Canary Coalition has decided to give the negotiation a chance and has renounced the veto. PP, Vox, Ciudadanos, Junts, the CUP and Foro Asturias request the return of public accounts. The vote will take place next Thursday. The Government needs a simple majority, more yeses than noes to knock down these amendments, and for the PGE to continue its parliamentary process. The demands of ERC The negotiations have been held until the last minute between the Treasury, Minister Félix Bolaños and the representatives of the different parliamentary groups. Republicans have been complaining for days that the PSOE was very far from fulfilling its commitments. His list of demands included compliance with investments with Catalonia, unblocking the housing law and, above all, advancing in the resolution of the Catalan conflict. In this sense, Esquerra wants “anti-repressive measures” for the independentists who still have pending cases due to the procés. In the debate is the reform of the crime of sedition to lower the penalties provided for in the Penal Code. The Government has always been willing to talk about this issue so that Spain is homologated to the rest of the European countries, but it demands large majorities that now do not exist in Parliament. In any case, Moncloa does not want to mix the Budget negotiations with other issues on the political agenda.
