Ukraine, parliament Estonia declares Russia a terrorist state

The Estonian parliament approved with a very large majority the definition of Russia as a “terrorist” state and “sponsor of terrorism”. The resolution urges other states to follow Tallinn’s example and condemns both military actions on Ukrainian territory and the illegal annexation of four Ukrainian regions. “It is not possible to create a law with a crime,” the text states, referring to annexations after farce referendum. The broad resolution accuses Russian President Vladimir Putin of turning Russia “into a pariah country”, supports international investigations into war crimes committed by Russians and the proposal to revoke the status of permanent member of the UN Security Council in Moscow . The text was approved by 88 of the 101 deputies of the Riigikogu. Five amendments were rejected by the Conservative People’s Party (Ekre) which asked all Baltic countries to close their embassies in Moscow and expel Russian ambassadors.
