More than 2,200 fatalities reported in Haiti after the 7.2 magnitude earthquake

(CNN) – The death toll following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that struck Haiti on Aug. 14 rose to 2,207, the country’s civil protection agency reported on Sunday.

About 12,268 people have been injured and 344 remain missing, according to the civil protection agency.

The entity also reported that 52,923 homes have been destroyed and another 77,006 suffered damage.
