The Taliban are headed for the Panshir Valley, the last pocket of resistance to Islamic militants in northern Afghanistan. And what we read on the Twitter account of Panshir Province, attributable to the resistance headed by Ahmed Massoud, son of the legendary ‘Lion of Panshir’, according to which the Taliban would have given an ultimatum of 4 hours for the surrender. After having denied the rumors of a possible surrender in recent days, Massoud now ‘opens’ to the Taliban, but on the condition that their government is not ‘extremist’. In an interview with the Arab newspaper al Sharq al Awsat, Massoud says: “We are ready to form an inclusive government with the Taliban through political negotiations, but what is not acceptable is the formation of an Afghan government characterized by extremism, which would lead to a serious threat, not only to Afghanistan but to the region and the whole world “.
