Touched by the disaster situation, the Guilloteau family mobilized and chose to give. “Little pants for September, dresses, it’s a minimum and we still have some at home, we should take another trip”, explains David Guilloteau, inhabitant of Grimaud (Var). “If someone brings a little something, it makes a room full of stuff“, continues his wife, Aline.

Solidarity continues, a few tens of meters further, in a restaurant in the city center. In the kitchen, in addition to traditional customers, 60 additional meals are prepared, which will be offered to the firefighters. On the menu, sautéed poultry with olives and pasta. “We do it because we feel concerned, (…) the real heroes are them”, says Yohan Aupiais, restaurateur. In the hamlet of Val-de-Gilly, two men try to restore running water. Originally from the region, they gave up everything to come and help their disaster-stricken friends. “We come to brighten up a little these people of the hamlet who have really lost everything”, says Jamel Souttou.
