“Hey, we’ll see you on the other side,” Juraj K, the attacker from Zámocká Street, wrote shortly before midnight. In his manifesto, which he published just a few hours before the killings, he wrote that he wanted to continue the attacks. “In case I survive the first day, I don’t want my other targets to know they’re on the list,” he explained. Prime Minister Eduard Heger could also be his target, as Juraj K. took a photo in front of the apartment building where Heger lives a few weeks ago. The prime minister has already confirmed that the published photo of the attacker is indeed in front of his house. At a press conference, the Prime Minister condemned the shooting and called for an end to hatred in society. Asked if he feared for his life, he said no. “I’m not worried because I realize what a difficult time we’re living in,” said Heger. Juraj K. did not continue with the murder, the police found him dead on Thursday morning shortly before eight in the morning near the building of the Ministry of Education near Jasko rad. According to Denník N, Juraj K. came home to his parents after the attack, where he exchanged one weapon for another. There was a conflict between Juraj K. and his parents, the killer also wrote a farewell letter. He then left the house with his father’s gun. The parents did not call the police. The attacker probably wandered around Kramár and in the nearby forest park all night. Shortly after midnight, he communicated on Twitter, where he published his manifesto, and on the website 4chan, where he published his photos from Bratislava at night. When Users urged him to take a selfie with a shoe on his head if he is the one who murdered two men, Juraj. K. immediately did so. He also wrote in the comments that he does not feel sorry for the murdered homosexuals, but he is sad for his family. Posts on 4chan disappeared during the night, the twitter account was also deactivated in the morning. Juraj K. also encountered a nationalist vision of the world at home. His father, also Juraj, ran for parliament in 2020 for Harabin’s Vlasť party. On his Facebook profile, the elder Juraj K. published criticism of President Zuzana Čaputová or Heger’s government, expressed his pro-Russian views in posts, and recently called the new Minister of Foreign Affairs Rastislav Káčer an “American marionette”.
