Senior collapsed in the Tatras, fell from the sidewalk into the cypress tree, they did not save him – Korzár

HIGH TATRAS. Mountain rescuers from the High Tatras were asked on Saturday morning for help for a 67-year-old Slovak tourist who collapsed on the sidewalk from Skalnate pleso towards Zamkovsky chata.

As he informs Mountain Rescue Service (HZS) on its website, despite efforts to revive it.

After the collapse, the tourist had to fall from the sidewalk into the cypress tree.

He could no longer be revived

“Surrounding tourists took him to the sidewalk, but the man showed no signs of life. Witnesses immediately began reviving him and HZS rescuers from the High Tatras were sent to the area, who were heading to Skalnaté pleso at that time,” the HZS said. arriving at the scene of the event continued cardiopulmonary resuscitation of the tourist.

Air rescuers, who were asked to cooperate, could not reach them due to unfavorable flight conditions.

“Unfortunately, despite the best efforts of all participants, the tourist could not be saved,” added HZS.

Mountain rescuers transported the poor man’s body to Starý Smokovec, where they handed him over to the supervising doctor and members of the Police Force.
